Is it so small a thing

To have enjoy'd the sun,

To have lived light in the spring,

To have loved, to have thought, to have done...

•October Jim Knight Coaching conference  Paul  (5 mins)

Dave will talk to the "powers that be" to determine if we can attend. If we go, we should ALL go to build a team. Another option is to see if Jim Knight can come to Colorado to speak to us.

UPDATE FROM DAVE:

Jim Knight's  "The Partnership Approach" is a good book for us to read

Dave: Trying to find priorities for coordinators and how they fit into the big picture

Elieen, Karen and Jane's priority (new title: "Coordinator of Professional Learning")

1. Support the instructional coaches, along with Eileen Elles

2. Karen and Jane: SMART Board support

3. Eileen: PAS and middle/high school support

4. Supporting the 25 schools that do not have a coach

5. Replacing Kathy Brabec's position has not been approved yet. If we get it, they would serve as liason between district library and school librarians, along with supporting the 25 schools.

6. New Positions/Titles:

Jim Curran's title: "Coordinator of Online Professional Learning" Rachel will help with this, too.

Ned will keep his old title of "K-12 Instructional Technology Coordinator" but will move to become part of the Content Coordinator Team.

Ginger will continue to support the professional learning department

Content Coordinators will move into the coach space. Mary will move here, also. Alison Renova and Joanie McRoberts will now be under Dave's supervision. Grants Department will take over the Content Coordinator's space.

Josh and Cari's position as webmasters will move under the IS umbrella and be housed somewhere else.

7. Still waiting for final word on the status of per pupil cap reserve ($10-$15). Hardware purchases will be done at district level next year, according to Ben's goal. Dave has pushed for focusing on the schools coaches will be working with, to help demonstrate how a 21st century classroom will look like.

8. Trying to make sure that all the coaches get what they need as far as laptops are concerned. Hoping to stay on a 2 year replacement cycle.

9. Finance has put a hold on reimbursements for DSL. Dave will try to "go to bat" for coaches, as well as others in the district who work from home (online learning, etc.)

BREAK - BREAK - BREAK

•Building Capacity in our Schools   Amy and Ann (30 min)

- How to work with former C4T's and Workshop participants to build capacity

- Generate a list that is skill-based that shows the type of support we are asked to do for C4T's and Workshops, and then determine who in the building has expertise in a certain so they can help colleagues

- Look at the list and then talk with our schools about how share this list with people to give them resources within their own building of who can help with a specific technology-related question.

- Create a folder on the server that teachers can access, that includes SMART Board lesson ideas for others to use and contribute

- Perhaps at our next Office Ours we address this list, and how to collaborate and develop a common framework for building capactiy

- Build "cross-school connections" via an online resource (wiki) so people will know who they can connect with to learn more about using a tool.

- This idea supports our role as "resource provider" and helps the people in our buidings become a resource provider for their school
