End of the Workshop Day Ideas

What questions could we use or ideas do we have for the coach time at the end of the workshop day? Take steps to maximize the impact of the workshop on their growth and classroom practices. There ought to be an "agenda," adjusted for the number of people, for this time, so everyone knows what is going to happen.

 

Menu Options consider preparing this section for sharing with teachers at the workshops, either individually or in the whole group, (menu, poster, exit card, video) as a revision to the exit card. Coaches need to plan for this time so that their people have something to work on while appointments are being set.

Scheduling a time to meet, even if it's just to plan the next session.

Consulting - help them solve problems.

Coach Demo

Observation of the teacher's lesson

Co-Teach

Release Time from the classroom to work with the coach, such as visiting another school, or planning with coach.

Co-Planning - with teacher or within grade levels

Equipment Check-Out from SARC

Coach takes students to allow teacher to collaborate within the building. (For this option, preplanning and debrief are essential!) In this instance, the technologically adept teacher can either be visited by the teacher whose class you are covering, OR they can come and teach in the classroom of the targeted teacher.
