What questions, comments do you have around next year??
Dave, Karen, Jane.....
- Interviews for the coach position will be on April 13 and April 15
- Defining roles of coaches, teachers, principals, etc
- Many details to play out--coordinators, etc
- Joel-Are there federally mandated duties?
- Dave-I do not think that you will need to create that.
- Cindy-? about how jobs are being funded? Title I vs Title II? I would like to be aware
- Paul-I think that we need to identify a chain of command with regard to how much time they put into different initiatives.
- Dave-you will notice that there will be differences. We will hone in on district initiatives. ***This is the part where Dave and Paul spoke a secret language***
- Jane-you and the principal are going to be partners
- Ann-how do you foresee that we will be ready to go in August?
- Dave-I think that you all have a lot of skills. Those details are not worked out, but you will have time to be ready.....
- Amy-What about year round schools? Can you all help set schedules?
- Jane-Some of the coaches may have information to share with you regarding their skills, needs, desires
- Cindy-This is scary work...I am being honest
- Dave-You have real opportunities to make changes
- Ann-How is the work from this office going to continue? Where is that voice going to come from?
- Dave-I am going to continue to push on that. I do not want that work to be lost.
- Things will be different
- Amy-best coaching conversations since this announcement came out....we have 3 months.....it is a great opportunity for us to help people sustain growth
- Dave-if you have things to say, please send me email and cc Karen and Jane
- Joel-I can't wait to have conversations other than technology
- Greg-It's an opportunity to have people see us in a different light. How do we rephrase, retool, etc?
- Jane-Many of those buildings have a tech contact....how can you all help them to understand their leadership role?
- Ann-Is there going to be a liaison model in place?
- Karen-it has been talked about, it may look different....

- Joel-I am getting nitty gritty questions....C4T and SmartBoard grants
- Karen-we do not know about funding....Kathy's position may or may not get filled
- This unknown is hard....
- Karen-maybe a thought is to have a meeting with the principal about how the building can be more collaborative

- astounding results--teachers are putting in many hours of work

- There was talk about the future of the program
- Participants would like a script
- Cindy will ask participants about using the podcasts outside of the program
- Cindy presented results with Mary Barrington on Friday. Mary had HIGH praise for the program and for Cindy and Amy's work! KUDOS!

Review of First Smartboard Observations
- Keli shared insights
- Jane worries about the "gold star"
- Be careful about making inferences
- We have to make certain that we start on time
- Jane is going to shorten the observation time
- Jane brought the NETS to the pre meeting
- Cindy-We need to ask specific questions during the pre meeting with regard to 21st Century
- Jane-there are many coaching opportunities after the observations. We need to be @ the observations of people that we coach
- We discussed how to frame pre meeting, prebrief, post, etc....questions, etc.
- Karen-how can we get these teachers to challenge themselves?

- ANN- Coaching heavy,on the other hand includes high-stake interactions between coaches and teachers, such as curriuculum analysis, data analysis, instruction, assessment, and personal and professional beliefs and how they influence practice.
