Agenda Items:

*Emergency Agenda Insert #1: He-e-e-r-r-r-e-e-e's Dave!

Dave Stuff:

  • iTunes U Strategic meeting on Wednesday, October 8th, 8-10, SARC. This will override our "Office Ours" meeting, so coaches will be able to attend. Anyone with an interest can attend (IS, IT, etc.)
  • Coaching Update: If you have not finished first draft of Google Doc goals sheet, please do so soon (end of the week / ASAP).
  • Make sure Dave gets a chance to "shadow" a coach this Fall.
  • Our role is to help teachers become independent and continue to grow, especially when we're not there (..to be continued)
  • Expectations for us and each other:
    • Email: Bcc Dave on communications to teachers, principals, C4T's, etc.
      • Purpose: opportunities to build relationships with teachers and schools through follow-up and reflection
      • Helps Dave see how much time we're spending in schools
      • Know what we're doing and how we're doing it
      • This expectation is still in place this year
      • Including tech contacts in email communication - use professional discretion to include them in emails. It's best to "err on the side of inclusion".  Dave would like to see communications with teachers we've spent time with in buildings. Feel free to send Jane/Karen everything to help them feel connected in schools.
      • Tight: teacher/principa/Dave/coordinators (principals can be "loose" depending on the type of communication)
      • Loose: tech contacts/other teachers/Ben, or who would benefit from this information
      • "In the spirit of sharing" works, so continue to copy coaches in communications

     *8:15 - 8:30 Calendar Review

    * 8:30 - 8:45 Observation Facilitation for 21st CC-

Update on what this is-Keli  5-10 minutes.

Setting a date for January 30th (at Willow Creek) for facilitating an observation of SMART Board lessons. Expectation is the school had to include a 1/2 day observation day to observe each other. To help us frame these, Lori Conrad (PEBC), offered to help plan how these observations should be conducted. Look at the teacher by having the teacher posing a question, and asking the observers to focus on that question as they watch the lesson. There is a pre/obervation/post meeting format.

   * 8:45 - 9:05  Updates on United Streaming and elementary databases:   Mark Ferguson  (20 minutes)

Brainstorming:  New & Emerging Ways to Use United Streaming?

ELEMENTARY DATABASE SUBSCRIPTIONS FOR 2008-09

  • Updated table of remote access, usernames/passwords for subscription databases at elementary level that district is responsible for facilitating and/or purchasing (Culture Grams + Grolier). School based services include EBSCO + SIRS. These are meant for home access, since it's "transparent" when we connect in CCSD.
  • Ask Colorado is a great resource for having a "live" chat with a librarian. Most users are students.(http://www.askcolorado.org/)
  • We are the proud owners of a STARLAB (portable planetarium)
  • United Streaming is now "Discovery Education Streaming"

*9:05 - 9:45 Continue C4T Action Plan feedback?

*clarity on C4T and workshop teacher expectations

C4T's should meet with coaches 1-one-1 for discussion of Action Plan, progress, concerns, etc. before October workshop dates (17th+23rd). Link to C4T agenda is on Google Docs. Learning team sharing is where group members provide feedback on their action plans. Time to then go back to their Action Plans will be provided. Jim added a table that coaches should copy/paste into our C4T's Action Plans to help them get an overview of each section.

"What were the moments in your timeline where your practice shifted?" is a great question to have C4Ts reflect upon in their action plan.

Workshops: focus students. Remember to write about their focus students and be prepared to share what they've done by the next workshop.

*Audience & Purpose Restatement & Clarification

      *9:45-9:55 BREAK

*9:55- 10:55 Introducing New and Emerging Technologies

•Blog Update (jane)

Jim created a generic admin account for coaches to use that allows coaches to go in as site admin (same as last year's). The only time to login as Site Admin is to "fix" something, and that's it. Be sure to LOGOUT afterwards, since this level of access has some major priviledges that could get compromised with too much "fiddling."

Teachers can self-enroll, but they have to use their @cherrycreekschools.org address. It's a two-step process:

1. enroll into edublog with email address (http://blog.ccsd.k12.co.us/wp-signup.php)

2. blog owner must then add them to their blog)

•Hookin' With the Head Honcho HookMeister Himself (Paul) :

Working with the "hookups" (Paul) 30 minutes. Explore and practice connecting document cameras into projection systems,
